We’re interested in making it easier for people to coordinate in the face of new and extreme incentives from AI development.
We’d like to explore and build in the space of threshold revelation platforms for coordinating people in situations with first actor risk.
The simplest form of this would be a platform like a kickstarter for open letters where people sign on and their signature is revealed if a pre-specified and agreed on condition is met, for example, that Y number of people have signed on.
A more complicated tool may enable people to choose their own conditions for revealing their agreement. One person may be comfortable when 10% of the group has signed, and another person might be only comfortable when 30% has.
Adding to this, one of the biggest bottlenecks in getting people to coordinate around joint statements is the letter of the text – finding ways for people to iteratively come to text more people can agree on or supporting a network of statements is also tech that could prove useful here.
We want to reduce first actor risk and enable coalition building.
